Oh man, this child isn't even born yet, and she already has SO much personality. Let me share some things with you that we already know about our little bundle of joy. First thing, this chica is not shy. We had our Doctor check the gender before the actual gender check ultrasound. She was very cooperative. Her legs were wide open, so that the doctor could tell us... "leg, leg, NOTHIN' in between." Then when we went back two weeks later for the big ultrasound, there she was, sitting with her ankles crossed, but her legs wide open again. I guess daddy and I will have to teach our little lady to sit like a princess once she comes out.
The other thing that we know about little Addie (that's not her name yet, I just don't want to keep putting "Baby Girl") is that she sure is rambuncious. Most women describe when they first feel their baby as "little flutters." Nope! That's not the case here. The first time I felt baby was when she kicked me hello. There is no pansy fluttering going on in my womb. She is a tough little nut who loves to move and stretch out. At least her power makes it easy for daddy to tell when she's trying to tell him hello.
That leads me to the other thing we know about our precious little gift. She's already chosen sides, and she's with daddy! Shortly after I had started feeling her move, I noticed that it had been a while since I'd felt her move. All day I tried jumping up and down, shaking my belly, and telling her to move so that mommy would know she was okay. Nothing. Not a flutter. I got home later that day and told Clayton how I was a little worried and told him to tell baby to move so mommy would know she was okay. Clayton leans down to my belly, tells Addie to move, and... a minute later, she was dancing around again. I guess, if she listens to one of us, that's better than nothing.
I also know that little miss princess is a spoiled child. Again, she's still not going to be with us with us for another 4 months, but already she has clothes to last her until she's 2, movies and Cd's to build her brain, books, blankets, toys. And I know it's not going to stop. My family is SO excited for her to come along. Most of the stuff are hand-me-downs, but I'm not even kidding that I have clothes in every size up to 2 years old. But believe me, I'm not complaining. If anyone else feels so inclined to pass down more clothes, books, toys, whatever, I'm open for it :o)
And the last thing I know for certain about little Baby Girl Fowers is that she will never feel a lack of love. My family already loves her, her daddy is SO excited for her to come (it helps that she's already chosen to be a daddy's girl), and I will be terrified, but thrilled once she's out here with us.

Our Little Family is Working on Getting Bigger
So by now, thanks to Facebook, I'm sure everyone and their dog knows that Clayton and I are expecting a little one some time in April. But not everyone knows the story, so I'll write it down here. And I'll be the first one to write my own news on the internet :o)
This summer I was trying to be better about eating healthy and exercising more. So, when I missed my period, I just chalked it up to exercising more, it didn't seem that unnatural to me. But in addition to the absence of a monthly enemy, I just wasn't feeling like myself. Clayton joked around and said "maybe your pregnant." I responded with "yeah, but maybe I'm not!" We already had a pregnancy test in the house because Kim and Dana thought they were being so funny putting on in our "honeymoon" basket. It was going to expire soon anyway, so one day when Clayton was at work I decided to take the test to prove Clayton and his little snarky comment wrong. Well, intentions and results don't always match up. I took the test and it had a + on it. I went to the store and bought another one and waited for Clayton to get home this time. The second test was positive too, and so it was official. Clayton was right for the first time in his life ;o) The next step was to get into a doctor's office. Searching for a doctor was a pain in the but because my insurance sucks. They have a list of obgyns that are covered, but all the information is out of date. I was getting ticked because I felt like I should really be seeing a doctor. This is my first one, I don't know what to expect or what's happening, I wanted to see a doctor.
We finally found a doctor, but their office closed before school got out, so I could never get a hold of them. I had Clayton call for me because he has more flexibility at his job than I do. Bless his heart, he did the best he could, but apparently in order to make an appointment they need to know the first day of your last period. He was stumped on that one, so I called on my lunch break because I miraculously didn't have kids in at lunch that day. (This is my favorite part) when I called the office, the receptionist asked if I was pregnant "well, that's what the stick said," was my response. Clayton told me later that he had responded with "that's what the home pregnancy test said," that was a much more appropriate answer than mine, but mine was funny. Turns out they don't want to see you in the office until you're 8 weeks along, so I had to wait for an appointment. It was hard waiting because I didn't know if everything was going ok or what.
I eventually made it in, had a very awkward first appointment where the only thing I learned was that my uterus was indeed the right size for being 8-9 weeks pregnant. Ok, so I'm still worrying the whole next month until my next appointment. The month actually turned into 5 weeks because I had made my appointment during Parent Teacher Conferences because I didn't know when they were. Clayton was there for the second appointment, and we learned that I'm a healthy girl (blood work came back normal) and we heard the baby's heart beat :o) I felt much better about things after that.
I cheated and got an appointment only 2 weeks after that (that was yesterday). The doctor I was going to had their office in Orem, but delivered in Provo. Um, I live in Sandy. Did I really want to drive 45 minutes while in labor? NO! For that reason, I changed doctors. I found a new doctor (actually, a friend recommended him) in American Fork. That's half way in between work and home so that I don't have to use personal days to see the doctor, but still have a little commute once labor strikes. The doctor and nurse again told me how healthy all my results were and Clayton and I got to see our baby for the first time!

The pictures don't actually print as well as the screen, so know that we saw a lot clearer shots than are up on this page. The doctor tried to see if it was a boy or girls, but I'm only 14 weeks along so it's still too early. But we got to see how adorable the little head, arms, legs, and body are. Apparently I've got an active one inside of me. Baby was wiggling around so much. I made the comment "oh, that will be fun when it gets bigger," and the doctor laughed. He said, it may not be that comfortable for a mom to have an active child, but it's a really good sign. Oh, okay, baby's doing well. I'll take it.
So that's the story so far. Had no idea I was pregnant until I tried to prove Clayton wrong, waited and waited to know anything about the baby, found out baby is developing well and is VERY active. Yay!

Family Reunion
This summer we went to Junction, Utah (again) for a different family reunion. Last year it was a
Smith family reunion at the Court House, and this year we went to celebrate Grandma Petronaci's 80th birthday (her birthday's in December, but just ignore that fact :o) It was a quick 3/4 day trip, but it was fun. Mostly the Kerby's kept to themselves, but it'd been a while since we were all together. There were lots of people there that I didn't know, and that's because they were Grandma's nieces and nephews or something like that. But, the family got to catch up with Aunt Leslie, since it's been a while, and Uncle Brent stopped by for a little bit too.
The next day we went to look at the mud pots. I thought those were pretty cool. They make the coolest sound, and they're a little unpredictable. I only mean that sometimes they would be gurgling slowly, then the next second, you're dodging so you don't get hit by the spatter. I'm not the only one that thinks they're cool either.
Once people got to the mud, it's not like any of them were in a hurry to get away from them. It's a tad bit mesmerizing. We also went to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. We got some good family pictures there. I also went to take a picture with a chipmunk and Dad told me if it bit me I would have to get shot. (He meant that I would have to get shots, but what he actually said was much more entertaining.) That day we mostly drove around and admired the scenery from our car. The lake, the forests, other small geysers. Animal sightings for the day again included buffalo, eagles, and elk, but we also saw a bear! Luckily not up close, seeing as we didn't know that one of the places where we went to that day there had been a bear attack the day earlier. Then it was a late dinner in West Yellowstone and back to camp.
Ew, also speaking of camp, there were the worst mosquitoes there. These things were HUGE and immune to everything. We worse bug spray, but they bit us anyway. We bought the special candles, but they still came around at dinner time. They were mean, nasty, and ruthless. We all walked away with so many nasty, red, itchy marks, it's not even funny. For that reason, we actually tried to stay out of camp as much as possible.
Good ole family. Gotta love 'em.

Europe
So, for our real anniversary, we didn't just take out little trip to California. We went much farther than that. We actually went to Italy (and we threw in a little France too). While Clayton was on his mission, there was a couple that took really good care of the missionaries. They especially took care of Clayton and his companion. When Clayton came home, they moved out to Utah, pretty close to where Clayton lived. They stayed in touch and Clayton would go and visit them, and they've pretty much adopted Clayton into their family. That couple is currently serving a mission in Italy. So, with a reason to visit, a place to stay, and some tour guides, we decided there was no better time to enjoy Italy than our one year anniversary (I'm pretty sure that I'm spoiled and praying that the rest of our anniversaries will be as good).
We spent 2 whole weeks in Europe. Flew into Madrid, Spain (only as a connecting flight), spent most of the time in Northern Italy, spent 3 days in France, and flew out from London, England (again, just a lay-over). There's WAY TOO MUCH to write about, so I'll just have to give the brief run down of how it was. AMAZING. There it is... the quick run down. Teehee ;o)
Days 1&2 of our trip traveling days. The first day sure was a long day too. We had a few connecting flights and every single one of them was delayed. Luckily we had time in between our flights, so it's not like we were ever scared that we wouldn't make our connecting flight, it just made for a miserable day of flying to be told that we had to wait. Once we finally made it to Italy, there were Brother and Sister Herndon to pick us up. We drove to their house, dropped our gear, visited for a quick second, then we were off to a memeber's house to give her a blessing. Clayton and Jack gave the sister a blessing, we visited for a while, then it was off to dinner. We tried a new place that Jack and Bernie hadn't ever been to, and I chose the wrong menu item. I chose gnocchi in duck sauce. Not that terrible, but not as good as everyone else's meals. But hey, dinner could be as crappy as it wanted to be, I was in freakin' Italy!
11th Day of the trip we went around Paris and looked at all those places you hear about in history books and see in movies. We hit the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Chompe d'Elysse, the Sein, the Bastille. Yeah, it was pretty great. And surreal, it was hard to believe we were actually there, even though we were in fact actually there.
Of course the trip home didn't go smoothly, and I promise I'll try to be brief about it. Flew from Venice to London, Gatwick Airport. Struggled getting a train ticket to the bus station. Waited at the freezing bus station from around 1:00 am to 4:30 am, took the bus to the London, Heathrow Airport, got lost in the terminals, finally made it on our flight. In Chicago, our final flight to Salt Lake was canceled and we had to stay in a hotel and bum around Chicago until our 12:30 pm flight the next day. We sure were glad to be back home by time we finally made it there.
Anniversary
Yeah, yeah, it's a little late, but everything I write is ALWAYS late. So, that fact that Clayton and I still haven't received quality pictures back of our wedding is an entirely different story that, if you get me into it, you'll hear a lot of yelling and probably a little swearing. But, because of that side story, we still didn't have quality temple
wedding pictures almost an entire year after our wedding.
So, when Mom called up and joked about Clayton and I coming down over Memorial Day weekend, it got me thinking. Okay, it would be fun to go out on the Seados,
with a summer as busy as we had planned, this probably would be the only time we would have to go to
California, and since I own my wedding dress a
nd Clayton owns his Tux, we could totally redo our wedding pictures.
It was a pretty done deal after doing those short calculations. Although, Clayton (adorable as he is) informed me on the ride down that I didn't have to factor in the one where we would be able to go down to
California any other time because had already planned on kidnapping me and taking me down to see my family.
It was a pretty crazy weekend. Friday after school and work we drove down to California. We drove all night (good thing I married someone who can drive at night, because I hate it). We got to mom and dad's early Saturday morning.
We slept for a couple hours, but then it was on to Mission Bay for some Seado-ing. We had a blast with Mom, Dad, Kim, Ben, and the boys. Turns out that Clayton doesn't really enjoy the Seados, and part of it is
that he doesn't like riding on the back while I go over wakes and do donuts. Eh... hopefully he'll get over that ;o) After Seadoing it was
off to Kim's house to get showered, dressed, and ready. In the spirit of redoing pictures,
I was sunburned for this photo session too. I don't know how it happens, I did apply sunscreen. My make-up did a pretty good job of hiding the red, I thought, and even made it look like I was oober tan. Kim drove us down to the temple and we spent some time scoping out some good photo opportunities. It really didn't take all that long to get some good shots in, and it was way less climatic than last time. But... duh... last time was my actual wedding day. After the temple, Kim wanted to take pictures by the beach
. Not too many of those turned out, but we did get some good shots there too. Now we can say that we have some very awesome wedding pictures. There's no family in them, but it's more than we had before.
